It is a B day

Recommendation for recess:  Hats & Gloves

Do you like the Olympics? Are you an athlete? Do you like to make new friends? Well, here is an opportunity for you to support your fellow classmates with the same interests.

The Special Olympics provides people continuing opportunities to realize their potential, develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy and friendships. People from all over Rochester will jump into Lake Ontario! This is known as the Polar Plunge! People who want to go into the freezing cold water need to raise money for Special Olympics, otherwise they can’t participate. We are happy to announce Taylor will be participating next week in fundraising for the Polar Plunge. Bring in your change throughout the week to support your fellow students. Friday will be hat day with a $1 donation. If we raise $300 Mrs. Pincelli will plunge! We will be freezin’ for a reason!

Attention students in grades 3 – 5 : If you are interested in participating in STEM club please see Mrs. Blossom for an application.

Advanced Band: Only student participating in the upcoming solo festival will have lessons this week.

Have  a  wonderful day!

A few words from Mrs. Zimmerman

While reading the intriguing book, Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper, my students worked closely with Mrs. Cook's special needs class to learn about her students' personality traits, challenges, and needs. Following our work together, a group of students gave a presentation to the entire school during our Rachel's Challenge assembly which allowed them to introduced each of Mrs. Cook's students. The children enjoyed learning about how special each of her students are. What makes them so special is what they CAN DO despite their disabilities. What they accomplish on a daily basis is remarkable! What fascinated my students the most was that her students are learning some of the same things we are learning, too! The assembly was very heart-warming and concluded with my class, Mrs. Cook's class, and Taylor's Troubadours singing a beautiful song together. There was "HEARTLY" a dry eye in the place!
