Principal's Message

Friday, May 13, 2022

Spring has finally arrived and when I look at that date above, I think about how little time we have left together during the 21-22 school year!  The end of the year is always a time of pride for the learning and growth that took place and I am so proud of your children for all they have accomplished!  I have just a few quick updates and reminders below, thanks in advance for reading!

5th grade parents, I hope you enjoyed Monday night’s parent information session at Cosgrove. If you were unable to attend, please find a video of the presentation on the Cosgrove website.  Mr. Centola mentioned how the middle school utilizes the NWEA MAP assessment in support of the student placement process, and more information can be found here: 5th Grade Parent Letter.  I hope you’ve marked your calendars for the 5th grade Moving Up event scheduled for Thursday, June 16 at 11:00 am and the fifth grade Seabreeze trip on June 10.  More details to come from your students’ teachers!

Final Yearbook sale reminder: All yearbooks must be ordered and paid for online through this link (only $13 per book!), so please understand that we will not be selling “extras” at the end of the school year.  The deadline to order is Wednesday, May 18!  https://link.entourageyearbooks.com/my/Taylor22

Last but not least; with the move to a mask optional environment and new NYSDOH guidance, schools should notify individuals of the risk of potential exposure.  This information can be used by parents/guardians to make good decisions about masking and testing.  To access the number of weekly positive COVID cases by school building, please click here.  As a reminder, at-home testing kits and masks continue to be available to all families. If at any time you need more supplies, please contact our school’s main office.

Happy weekend and enjoy the warm weather!
