Principal's Message

Friday, June 19, 2020

Happy summer, Taylor Families! What a whirlwind year it has been and I am sure we can all agree that our school community rallied when faced with the most challenging circumstances. As I reflect on this year of getting to know your children and fostering connections, nothing brings me greater pride than our children and our collaboration to support them. Thank you for your trust, communication, and allowing me to play a role in your child’s life.  #taylorpride

While I encourage you all to take a much deserved break, the following document (K-5 Online Programs.pdfoffers access to a variety of online learning programs that students can continue to access over the summer months.  Once again, these are available for your child at any point, but remain purely optional.  In August our district will introduce some additional resources and activities to help you and your child prepare for the 20-21 school year.

I know that many of you have inquired about the Lifetouch yearbook orders. Please know that our office stays in consistent contact with the company and unfortunately has yet to receive a ship date. When we have any information, please be assured that I will communicate it to you.

Lastly, a reminder that your child’s report card can be accessed within the IC Parent Portal.  Your child’s report card will look different this trimester as our teachers will not be providing standards based or effort grades.  You can expect to read comments from your child’s teacher.  Parents can access the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus by using this link Please be sure to acknowledge that you accessed your child's report.

Throughout this summer I plan to take a break from weekly updates, both here and on social media platforms, however, rest assured that I will keep you in the loop as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year. While not the year that any of us had anticipated, I have truly loved and cherished every minute of being Taylor Elementary’s principal. I hope that your family stays healthy, enjoys time together, and soaks up the summer warmth.

Be well!
