Principal's Message

Friday November 19, 2021

Greetings Taylor Families,

I hope that this message finds your family healthy and gearing up for our Thanksgiving recess.

Report cards: Report cards will go live in the Infinite Campus Backpack on Wednesday, November 24 at noon. Please remember to both view and acknowledge the report card for each of your children. If you have any questions about your child’s progress, never hesitate to contact their teacher. We have updated you over the past month that the report card format is new this year. To prepare you for what you will be accessing next week, here are a few steps you can take between now and Wednesday.

UPK: The online application for Spencerport's Universal Pre-Kindergarten program for the 2022-2023 school year will be available on December 1, 2021. Eligible children:

  • Must reside in the Spencerport School District
  • Must be 4 years old on December 1, 2022

Parents/guardians can access the online application and additional information about the program here. If parents/guardians need a paper copy of the application, please call (585) 349-5156.

Next week: There is no school during Thanksgiving break - Thursday and Friday, November 25 and 26.  As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to wish each of our students and families at Taylor a very Happy Thanksgiving! I am hopeful that this break from our daily routines and tasks allows us to take time to reflect on how fortunate we are. Personally, it affords me a chance to be reminded how blessed I am by my family and the privilege afforded to me to be the principal at Taylor School.

A message from our Taylor PTO: How can we say thank you to our beloved Terry Taylor teachers? One way to do this is to stock our classrooms and carts with new supplies for 2022!

1) Grab a tag from the Adopt-A-Teacher Tree

2) Purchase what is on the tag

3) Return the unwrapped gifts in a bag with the tag to the main office by December 15.

Our Adopt-a-Teacher Tree will be displayed in the Taylor foyer beginning November 18th for parent-teacher conferences. After all conferences conclude, it will be moved to the cafeteria to be present for daily student pick-up. It is our goal to supply each teacher with some new supplies to start the New Year right! Questions or are not able to make it into the school building to grab a tag? Contact Mackenzie Sillick (

Enjoy the weekend and holiday break!
