My name is Tabitha Messner and I am the School Counselor at Terry Taylor Elementary. I believe that an effective School Counselor meets the needs of ALL students, working to create a supportive and welcoming school climate.
School Counselors provide support to students, staff members, and families with the goal of helping children become successful in school. I provide short term individual and or small group counseling for various concerns such as adjustment issues, family change, social skills, emotional self-regulation, grief/loss and developing friendships. Some of each day is also spent in classrooms teaching specific lessons on problem solving and goal setting.
